If you ask any web specialist or developer what is important in a website they will most likely tell you SEO. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. “What is that?” you might ask. Search Engines are Google.com, Yahoo.com, Bing.com, Ask.com and there are several others that exists. They all basically help you find what you are looking for on the internet. They contain loads of algorithms to help anyone be able to search exactly what they are looking for, whether that be the weather, a store, some information about a product and everything in-between. They go through websites looking for the most relevant information concerning the keywords you type into a search bar.
Why is SEO important?
Your website is just one of billions in the internet. How on earth is anyone going to find your website if they don’t know your web address by memory? Chances are they will never be able to unless your website can be found on the previous mentioned Search Engines and with billions of pages and web address your chances of being found are slim. This is why SEO is important. Your website must contain specific information to your business and then must be submitted in order for your website to be indexed correctly into the Search Engines Systems. Once those items are in place you then must make sure your website is in compliance with the search engines and your website will slowly start to show up. This all depends on the amount of relevant information pertaining to your business. While you could have a perfectly optimized website it is possible that your website will not show up in the top results. It could take weeks, months, or years of maintaining a website before you reach those top places depending on the businesses. Fortunately some search engines have made it better to localize websites to your location making it easier to find things near you.
Something better than SEO.
SEO is important and pretty easy to do but it won’t give you what you really hope it would, higher rankings in searches. In this case you are better to compete through bids to get your ads in the right spots when a search happens. Both Google and Bing, top search engines most people use today, has made it possible to put your information before all the search engines top results. Adwords and Bing ads are the ways to get your website shown without having to wait that long time in order for your website to appear in the search results. They are also customizable for targeting a specific audience. If that won’t do it for you there is always marketing through Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other Social Media platforms to help target your audience. The only drawbacks to using these services are the amount of time learning how to set them up and how to use them so you don’t waste your money.
What should you do now?
